More than 1.6 million botox took place in 2002 in America, making it the most popular non-surgical procedure, according to statistical data provided by the American Society of Plastic Surgery. It represents an increase of 2446% since 1997.
Since the FDA approved the use of botox for neurological use in 1989, it has been used extensively ever since. It has been used for more than two decades and it is considered quite safe. In April 2002, FDA also approved botox for the combat of forehead wrinkles.
The research continues for the use of botox for treating migraine, (It has
been approved in Europe).
